Mark Dempsey
Dempsey joined AEP in 1972. He began his AEP career in the commercial department at Kentucky Power’s Ashland Division. He later worked in the customer services and marketing department. Dempsey served as the governmental affairs manager in Kentucky from 1990 until being named to his current position in 2001. Dempsey is a member of the board and executive committee of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and is its immediate past chairman. He is also president of Fund for the Arts. Dempsey serves as a director for the United Way of Central West Virginia, Advantage Valley, Charleston Area Alliance, Mid Atlantic Technology and Innovation Center and New Vision Community development Corporation. Dempsey received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky majoring in political science and history. He and his wife, Paula, have two sons and reside in Charleston, W.Va. |
Mark Dempsey is vice president-external affairs in West Virginia for AEP’s Appalachian Power Company. He is responsible for customer services, governmental affairs, economic development and community affairs.
