Gale Given
Gale assumed her position as president in Pennsylvania in October, 2008. Prior to her current role, she held a similar position as president of Verizon’s Great Lakes Region (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin) since November, 2003. She had previously been appointed president of Verizon West Virginia in 2000. A native of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Gale began her career in 1979 at C&P Telephone of West Virginia in the central office engineering organization. In 1987, she began working for the research division of the regional Bell operating companies, where she assisted the telecommunications industry in resolving national issues related to carrier interconnection. Gale then returned to C&P Telephone in the West Virginia regulatory organization in 1990 as executive director. Gale has earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in business administration from Marshall University. She serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, Discover the Real West Virginia Foundation, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and its CEO Council for Growth, and the National Constitution Center’s Corporate Council. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Business Council Policy Roundtable. She has three children, and she and her husband reside in Philadelphia. |
Gale Given is president of Verizon Pennsylvania. She is responsible for Verizon’s corporate interests in the states of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Her responsibilities include government affairs, regulatory affairs, economic development and community relations.
